Lessons for Children & Teens

Learning to play piano takes time to develop. It is the kind of skill that needs refining between lessons and that’s why practice is so important.

In my studio I set goals for each student with them and their family and we work towards achieving them and celebrating that success! I use a variety of teaching tools including games and activities and I give each student the opportunity to plan the order of their activities in their lessons before we begin each lesson.

There are piece challenges, studio challenges, composer studies, rhythm challenges, practice challenges, performance opportunities, composing opportunities and for those that want to sit exams these can be in person or video exams in piano and music theory. All performances are voluntary.

Parents pay a vital role in the progress between lessons and encouraging practice and i like to work closely with each family to help achieve and celebrate the learning and progress.
